Stunning large-than-life ornaments at Paris Airports |
As fun as the picture above, the 22-foot-tall tree ornaments showcase a variety of Parisian landmarks. More of the glowing globes in silver, gold, and white line the entryways to both Paris-Orly and Charles de Gaulle to welcome all passengers.
In addition to the stunning visuals, passengers traveling over the weekends between December 19 and January 4 will see live performances and parades of dancers wearing "Eiffel Tower costumes measuring 3.2 metres in height," according to their spokesperson. Each of the costumed staff will be distributing small gifts and taking family photos.
In conjunction with the fun on the ground, Aéroports de Paris is running an Advent Calendar style contest on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/aeroportsdeparis where travelers can win prizes. Alternatively, visit www.a-parisian-tale.com to enter.
Another social promotion on Twitter asks followers of the hashtag #AVgeeks to share a #MyParisianWishis between January 1-15. The airports' social crew will select the very best wishes from the world's wish lists to display on screens throughout the airports.
Paris' city council will also display the best messages on illuminated signs around the city, and will invite Parisians to join foreign fans in this holiday fun.
Families who won't be in the City of Light this season can turn to the Holiday Lights and Christmas Festivities directory on Family Travel Forum to fill the season with #starrylights!
