Rocky Mountain High Golfing at Vail

With stunning vistas, the chance to play well designed courses and those extra-long, high-altitude drives that make your toddler seem like Tiger Woods, Vail, Colorado knows how to please families with golfers.

For this summer and fall, the Antlers at Vail resort is offering a new Build-Your-Own Vail Golf Package – crediting $100 off the regular room rate of each night’s stay between May 15–June 26 and September 9–October 14, 2013, toward golf, meals, or any activities or retail purchases made in Vail.

Never fear, there is also a lot more to do during a summer visit to Vail Valley for the active teens and grownups on your team, including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and river rafting. Plan on a five-day stay at least.

With 17 championship golf courses within a 38-mile radius, half of them open to the public, Vail Valley is a links-lover’s dream.  Area courses range from the Vail Golf Club located at the base of the Gore Range to the Arnold Palmer-designed Eagle Ranch Golf Club, recently honored by Colorado Avid Golfer Magazine as the “Best Mountain Course in Colorado for under a $100 green fee.” The Antlers at Vail’s helpful staff can recommend the perfect course and help guests arrange tee times.

During this season, Antlers at Vail (800/843-8245) rates start at $240/night for a Studio Suite...  or consider it only $140/night after $100 credit.  Families of all sizes can be accommodated in condominiums with balconies ranging from studio suites to four bedrooms; each has kitchens, fireplaces, free Internet and free parking. The complex is located in Vail’s Lionshead area, steps from some of our favorite restaurants, galleries, shops, the free Vail town shuttle and Vail’s Gondola.

  1. I always found that visiting places like Vail or anywhere in Colorado was just as wonderful as the winter. Tons of hiking, etc. to do! This place looks beautiful!
